Report abuse and grievance redressal

Effective date: 26 October 2026

Tell us if a OneWa link, widget, website or account is being used for betting or gambling, online money games, scams, spam, impersonation, infringement of your rights or anything else that breaks our Acceptable Use Policy or the law.

Report by email

1. What to include in your report

  • The OneWa link, website or widget address (for example the full link you clicked).
  • The WhatsApp number or other Destination involved, if you know it.
  • What is wrong and, if you know, which law or policy is being broken.
  • Evidence such as screenshots, dates and, for scams, payment details.
  • Your name and contact details, and, if you are reporting on behalf of someone else, your authority to do so. For copyright or trademark complaints, also identify the work and your ownership of it.
  • A statement that the information is true and given in good faith.

You can write to us directly at contact@onewa.link. Please do not send passwords, OTPs or full payment credentials.

2. What happens next

  • We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days of receipt, as required under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
  • Where a report credibly shows betting, gambling or another clearly prohibited use, we aim to disable the link first and investigate after.
  • We may share your report with the account holder, usually without your personal contact details, and with authorities, WhatsApp or Meta and payment providers where appropriate.
  • We may decline reports that are clearly false, abusive or made in bad faith.
  • We keep records of removed content and related account information for 180 days, or longer where the law or an authority requires.

We cannot see or retrieve the content of WhatsApp conversations. To remove a number or a chat from WhatsApp itself, you also need to report it inside WhatsApp.

3. Grievance Officer

In line with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the 2021 Intermediary Rules, our Grievance Officer can be contacted here:

Name / designation: Grievance Officer, OneWa
Email: contact@onewa.link
Address: New Delhi, India
Acknowledgement: within 24 hours of receipt  ·  Resolution: within 15 days of receipt

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee established by the Government of India under the Intermediary Rules within 30 days of our decision, or pursue other remedies available to you under law.

4. Court orders and government notices

Written orders or notices from a court or an authorised government agency, including requests to remove or disable access to content or to provide information, should be emailed to contact@onewa.link. Please identify the link or account, the legal basis and the officer issuing the order. We act within the time the law requires (for example, within 36 hours for removal on a lawful order, and within 72 hours for providing assistance on a written order).

5. If you have been scammed or someone is in danger

Reports to OneWa do not replace reports to the authorities. If you have lost money, report it at once to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in) or call the cyber-crime helpline 1930, and tell your bank. If someone is in immediate danger, call 112.
